Kisses Under Twilight

Truly a magical couple best captured under an Inland Northwest sky!
It all started at a Starbucks in Spokane’s downtown core; this is where this lovely young couple and I met to sign the contract for wedding photography-based services. Shortly afterwards, we left Starbucks and headed to the path along the Spokane River to make the magic happen — an all-inclusive and hour-long engagement photo session under twilight conditions (aka a crush-dramatic sunset).
As Spokane’s sky dimmed, nature’s paintbrush stroked higher-level clouds on its canvas to provide the crush colors of pinks, purples, and reds to purify this young couple’s love for one another. As their photographer, I felt the love; the spontaneity, the excitement, the passion, the glistening colors of the sunset truly reflect this couple’s readiness, preparedness, and commitment toward one another and the institution of their soon to be [perfect] union.
During their hour-long engagement session, apart from brief posing guidelines and concerns, very little was said. It wasn’t as if either the engaged couple or I ignored each other; instead, the comfort levels were established prior to the signing of the contract and maximized at the time of the contract’s signing and when their engagement photo session began. Furthermore, this couple did what they did best—loving one another, and I did what I do best—capturing their love story through my Sony a6000 & Minolta MD Rokkor-X 35mm lens at F/4.
No longer able to hold emotions? Just emulate a river’s behavior — flow freely and remain consistent to commitment; consistency [on giving and receiving] is the key to any successful relationship!
